The other day, we received a tech support call from one of our customers, Sharon in Texas. “I’m trying to calibrate my BoardShare device”, he said, “but the calibration screen seems to be aligned to the right. The display cuts off on the right side and doesn’t allow me to complete calibration. I really want this to work – can you help me?” Upon hearing this, we were able to immediately help her, as this issue has come to our attention before.

We first started getting these calls a couple of months back, after Windows came out with their latest update at the time. The good news is that it’s quite an easy fix. All you have to do is change the display options on your computer. Log into your computer, and we'll walk through how to make the appropriate display changes right now in this very blog post. When we're done you'll know exactly how to troubleshoot this issue for Windows 7 & 10.  Ready? Let's go.

Windows 7

1) Display Settings

First, click on the Start Button to your bottom-left and go to Control Panel.

From All Control Panel Items, go to Display.

2) Scale and Layout

On the latest software update fror Windows 7, the display settings changed a bit and caused issues with projector use for some people. The way to fix this issue is to make sure that the text sizing is set to Smaller (100%).

Next, restart your computer to see the changes take place.

3) Calibrate

Finally, calibrate screen with your BoardShare device and begin annotating.

Windows 10

1) Display Settings

First, click on the Start Button to your bottom-left and go to Settings.

Once you click Settings, it should automatically direct you towards the Display window.

2) Scale and Layout

Next, under Scale and Layout change your Text Sizing to 100%.

3) Calibrate

Finally, calibrate screen with your BoardShare device and begin annotating.

“I can’t believe it. It worked!”, she shouted enthusiastically, “Thank you so much – you’re a lifesaver!”
